Research opportunities in Emergency Medicine

Emergency medicine offers exciting prospects for conducting and publishing research. Our consultants and trainees at St. Vincent’s University Hospital have diverse research interests, including sports injuries, resuscitation, pre-hospital care, clinical decision unit medicine, sepsis, paediatric emergency medicine and thromboembolic disease.

There are numerous research opportunities available for trainees, medical students and nursing staff to actively participate. We encourage presenting research at prestigious scientific meetings such as IAEM, Faculty RCEM, Faculty of Sports & Exercise and EUSEM.

Our Emergency Department maintains a robust publication record, regularly contributing to high-impact journals through collaborative efforts across various disciplines and professions.
