St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) has been named Healthcare Organisation of the Year at Ireland’s Climate Change Leadership Awards 2026. The award recognises the hospital’s work over the past five years to reduce its environmental impact, strengthen its resilience to climate change and make sustainability part of how healthcare is planned and delivered.
A pioneering €1.25 million Irish research programme is investigating whether a small patch of donor skin could provide an early warning of organ rejection. Led by Professor Róisín Dolan at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Sentinel Study Ireland aims to bring a hidden immune response into view.
Dr David Fennelly has appeared before the Oireachtas Committee on Health to help shape Ireland’s next National Cancer Strategy, outlining a vision for a nationally coordinated cancer network that would improve access to specialist care, research and innovation for patients across the country.
St. Vincent’s UCD Cancer Centre has been designated as an OECI Cancer Centre by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes, recognising excellence across clinical care, surgical specialisation, cancer research and education. The Centre brings together cancer services and expertise to support specialist care, research and improved outcomes for patients affected by cancer.
