Occupational Health
The Department of Occupational Health provides a specialist service in promoting the physical and psychological well-being of St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group employees. The department looks at how work and work surroundings may affect an employee’s health and also how an employee’s health may affect their ability to work.
Services
- Health assessment, illness and injury: e.g. pre-employment assessments, return to work assessments, sickness absence reviews, case management, management of potential occupational blood exposures (OBE’s)Infection prevention and control: contact tracing of staff in the event of outbreak of an infectious disease
- Immunisation evaluation and vaccination, including hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TB, influenza
- Occupational health staff support service
- Health surveillance including vision screening
- Health promotion e.g. working backs programme
- Risk management e.g. pregnancy at work programme
