2021 National Inpatient Experience Survey
7th September 2021
The National Inpatient Experience Survey is a nationwide survey asking patients who are discharged in September about their recent experience in hospital.
The survey will be distributed by post to all patients who meet the following criteria; a minimum of a 24-hour stay in a public acute hospital in Ireland during the month of September 2021, provided they are over 16 and have a postal address in Ireland. Patients will also have the opportunity to complete the survey online.
All wards areas in St. Vincent’s University Hospital have been provided with information packs which will be given to patients at the point of discharge from the hospital. Participation is voluntary and patients’ answers will be processed in strict confidence and kept separate from their contact details. The survey responses will provide us with important information to help us learn from patients’ feedback in order to improve hospital care.
The hospital looks forward to receiving the 2021 National Inpatient Experience Survey results later this year and progressing some new quality improvement projects based on the results.
